CCMT 2018 – DATES, ELIGIBILITY, REGISTRATION, COUNSELLING AND SEAT

A brief on CCMT 2018:

CCMT 2018 is the centralized counselling that will be conducted for admissions to the postgraduate courses in Engineering, Architecture and Planning that are offered at the NITs and various other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). Widely known as the Centralised Counselling for M.Tech/M.Plan (CCMT) will commence shortly after the results of GATE 2017 has been announced. Admissions will be done on the basis of candidates’ GATE scores for the previous and current academic year. GATE qualified candidates who wish to participate in the centralized counselling process will have to fill in a separate online application form. CCMT 2018 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The following eligibility conditions will apply for candidates who wish to participate in the Centralised Counselling for M.Tech/M.Plan (CCMT):

  1. The candidate ought to have secured a minimum CGPA of 6.5/10 or 60% marks (6/10 or 55% marks in the case of SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying degree/examination.
  2. The candidate should also have a valid GATE score (2016/2017)

Counselling

The counselling of CCMT will be carried out online. Candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their GATE 2017 Scores and the choices that have been exercised by them. Candidates who are allotted a seat will have to pay the full fee online before their provisional admission letter is generated. Candidates who have their provisional admission letter in hand will have to, thereafter, personally report at any one of the ‘Reporting Centers’ or the ‘Allotted Institute’ as per the schedule given for the verification of their documents and the completion of the remaining admission formalities. Candidates who wish to participate in the National Spot Round (NSR) will have to make an advance deposit of Rs.40000 and also get their documents verified prior to being allotted a seat.

Note:This year NIT Manipur, NIT Sikkim, the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Sibpur and the IIIT Srirangam will also participate in the Centralised Counselling for M.Tech/M.Plan (CCMT).

CCMT 2018 APPLICATION FORM

CCMT 2017 Application Form can be filled in by all those candidates who are interested in participating in the centralized counselling process that will be held for admissions to the M.Tech/M.Plan programmes that are offered at the NITs and various other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). The application forms are likely to be issued in the month of April 2017. Interested candidates can fill in the form after a thorough reading and evaluation of all the guidelines with regard to the eligibility criteria of CCMT 2017. A summary of the requirements for admissions to the M.Tech & M.Planning programmes will be put up on the official website of CCMT. For participation in the counselling process, applicants are required to have qualified GATE 2017 apart from satisfying the other conditions that have been prescribed for the respective programs by the concerned institutes. APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTION

The CCMT Application procedure involves three simple steps viz., registration, payment of the registration fee and filling in of the online application form. The step-by-step procedure for filling in the application form of CCMT has been explained below:

  1. Registration: To register for CCMT 2018, candidates will have to first access the online application link that will be provided on the official CCMT website and fill in their GATE details. Before candidates can fill in their GATE details, however, they will be shown an open undertaking page which is to be read carefully and accepted. On completing registration, a temporary number will be generated which candidates are to retain the same for payment of the registration fees.
  2. Payment of the Registration Fees: Once the registration for CCMT 2017 has been completed successfully, candidates need to pay the application fee. The application fee can either be paid via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking or through an E-Challan of the ICICI Bank. An amount of Rs.2000 (Rs.1500 in the case of SC/ST applicants) will be charged as application fee on every candidate.Candidates will receive a transaction receipt after the application fee has been paid. Once the payment is done, the permanent number along with login credentials will also be sent to the concerned candidates. Candidates are to use this information to fill in the CCMT 2018 Application Form.
  3. Note:In case, any candidate does not receive his/her login details within 72 hours after making payment of the registration fees, he/she should contact the CCMT Administrator with immediate effect along with a scanned copy of the transaction receipt that has been acknowledged by the bank.

  4. Submission of Filled Application Form:  After reviewing all of the filled information, the candidates will have to submit the application form. No print out is to be sent to the admission authorities. The e-challan will be generated after the application form is successfully submitted.
  5. Filling in the CCMT Application Form 2018After payment of the registration fees, candidates can login using the Login ID, Password and Permanent Number that they have received and proceed to fill in the CCMT 2018 Application Form. Candidates are instructed to fill in all the information in the application form as required. At the time of filling in the online application form, candidates should also exercise their choices for counselling and seat allotment.
  6. Candidates are to note that once they have locked their choices and submitted the same, they will not be allowed to make any modifications on the same form. In case, candidates wish to make any changes in the choices that they have indicated, they should fill in a fresh application form and also pay the requisite application fee again. The CCMT 2018 Application Form that was submitted earlier will stand cancelled in such a case.

CCMT 2018 APPLICATION PROCEDURE 

The application form of CCMT 2017 will be made available online. Candidates who wish to register for the centralized counselling process will have to provide their GATE Exam details besides filling up the online application form that will require specific details with regard to the applicant’s academic qualifications, correspondence details and other personal information. Every applicant will also be required to pay an amount of Rs.2000 (Rs.1500 in the case of SC/ST applicants) as application fee. The application fee can be paid via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking or through an E-Challan of the ICICI Bank.
