JEE Main 2019 Complete Exam Schedule has been released now. It will be organized by NTA (National Testing Agency). It is a national level entrance test. It is organized to offer admission in BE/B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Plan courses. NITs, CFTIs and various other colleges and institutions of India consider the JEE Main scores for providing admission. For admission in IITs & ISM Dhanbad, students have to qualify both examinations, i.e. JEE Main and JEE Advanced. It will be conducted twice in a year by NTA. JEE Mains 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Fulfilling the eligibility criteria is a must for all the candidates because the admission will be subjected to it. The norms of JEE Main 2018 eligibility criteria to be satisfied are as below:

  1. Age Limit: Candidate should not be born before 1 October 1992. However, the limit for the SC/ST/PwD candidates is 1 October 1987.
  2. Education Qualification: The qualifying examination should have been passed in 2015 or 2016. However, candidates writing 10+2/equivalent exams in 2019 may also apply.
  3. In the qualifying exam, candidates must have had Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects among five subjects.
  4. Number of Attempts: Each candidate is entitled to take JEE Main 2019 three times only. However, the age limits and the number of attempts for the admission in the institutions of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha states will remain the same as that was when the state level exam was held.
Some Crucial Points to Note.
  1. Candidates, who did not pass in qualifying exam in 2014 but retook the exam in 2015 and passed, are not eligible.
  2. Candidates who did not qualify 10+2 exam in 2017 and are reappearing for it 2019, are required to rewrite the exam of all the 5 subjects.
  3. The state level exam of Odisha has been scrapped because now JEE Main 2019 scores will be considered for admission in the colleges in the state.
  4. However, the age limit and the number of attempts will remain the same as the past year. This is not applicable to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs
  5. Maharashtra state will conduct its own paper, MT CET, for admissions.

After the releasing of result, the board will announce the detailed schedule of JEE Main 2019 counselling. Separate schedules will be announced for All India Rank and state level counselling.

  1. Counselling process will be organized from the third week of June 2019.
  2. JEE Main 2019 counselling will be conducted through online mode.
  3. To appear in the counselling, candidates will have to register themselves.
  4. After that candidates have to fill their preferences of colleges and courses.
  5. On the basis of filled choices, rank, category and seats availability, a provisional seat allotment will be announced.
  6. After that, candidates will have to download their provisional seat allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee.
  7. After paying the fee, candidates have to report to the reporting centre to verify their documents.
  8. Once the seats get confirmed by the reporting centre, candidates have to appear at the allotted college for further admission process.


The exact number of institutes which accepts JEE Main 2019 score is impossible to calculate. However, last year, the counselling of JEE Main was held for 68 Institutions, which included 32 NITs, 18 IITs and 18 GFTIs. The number and list of NITs + System institutes this year, in JEE Main 2019, will be announced soon and we will update the article as per it.

Apart from this, various states are also accepting JEE Main 2019 score to fill all the seats. Among this list of the participating states, the latest add-ons are Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha. On the other hand, Maharashtra has drawn back from the exam and will be conducting its own state level entrance examination for the admissions.



The Main paper is held for the admission into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. However, the Advanced paper is held for the admission into IITs and ISM-Dhanbad. Only top 2 lakh entrants of JEE Main 2019 are declared eligible to write JEE Advanced, provided they fulfill the required eligibility criteria as well.

The official provisional answer key for JEE Main 2019 will be available from 24 to 27 April 2019. It will be open to challenges, which candidates will be able to submit by remitting Rs. 1000 per question/objection. The Board will consider these objections and will then announce the result.

The unofficial bodies, like educational institutes and centers, will also release the answer key. However, these answer keys will be released few hours after the exam and will be less reliable than the official one.


The result of JEE Main 2019 will be released in two Parts. The Part-1 will consist of scores. Whereas, the Part-2 will disclose All India Rank (AIR) of the candidates.

Once the scores are officially disclosed, candidates will not be able to challenge or change it. Also, candidates will have to download the scores because no JEE Main 2019 score/rank card will not be dispatched to them. The scores of the candidates will be calculated as per the determined marking mechanism and will be announced sectional and overall wise. For calculating the rank, the Board will use the normalized procedure. The seat will only be allocated on the basis of the merit achieved by the candidate.


The purpose of normalizing the marks is to provide a fair chance to all the candidates. In it, the class XII percentile is calculated. Mentioning to clarify, the percentage is that which is calculated out of 100. Whereas, the percentile is calculated to state how many candidates have scored below a candidate, in the reference.

It states how many candidates have scored less than the best scorer. It is a benchmark as per which the marks of other candidates are calculated. It is calculated by the formula below

The examination will comprise of two papers, i.e. paper 1 (for B.E/B.Tech) and paper 2 (for B.Arch/B.Planing). The detailed JEE Main exam pattern for both papers is mentioned below:

  1. Exam Mode: The examination will be organized in online (computer based) mode.
  2. Type of Questions (Paper 1): The question paper will comprise of objective type questions.
  3. Type of Questions (Paper 2): Mathematics and aptitude section will be of objective type questions and drawing test will be subjective.
  4. Duration: The total exam duration will be three hours.
  5. Medium: The question paper will be asked in English and Hindi language for all exam cities and English, Hindi and Gujarati languages for exam cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
  6. Marking Scheme: Four marks will be provided for each correct answer.
  7. Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

  1. For CBT and Pen and Paper Exam: On the day of the exam carry your Admit Card, Good Quality Ball Point Pen, Clip Board, Geometry Box Set, Pencils, Erasers and Colour Pencils or Crayons.
  2. For CBT: The sheet to do rough work will be provided at the center.
  3. For Pen and Pencil: Rough work should be done on Test Booklet only. Don’t put any sort of marks on the answer booklet.

Candidates are required to fill the JEE Main Application Form 2019 only through online process. The application form has been available from 1st December 2019. No other modes will be entertained to fill and submit the application form.

Candidate can submit only one application form. More than one application form filling will lead to rejection.There is no need to send the printed application form to the CBSE Board.
