A brief on NDA 2018:
UPSC is the examination authority for NDA (a national level examination) to recruit eligible applicants in Indian Defence Forces that includes Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the NDA exam in various cities across the country. The examination is scheduled twice in a year, NDA (I) in the month of April 2018 and NDA (II) in the month of September 2018. A large number of students appear in the NDA exam to secure their career in Indian Defence Services. What is NDA & NA (I)?
National Defense Academy, khadagwasla and Naval Academy are the two pioneering academies which trains the candidates for the direct officer rank entry into the prestigious defence sectors of the country viz Army, Air force and Navy. Every year, UPSC, on the behalf of these two academies conducted the written examination two times in an academic year. The examinations are conducted in the months of April and September. The examination conducted in the month of April is called the NDA & NA (I) and the examination conducted in September is termed the NDA & NA (II). The examination is conducted for around 375 seats at one time of which the following is the break:
Army – 208 seats
Navy – 42 seats
Air Force – 70 seats
Naval Academy – 55 seats
Total – 375 seats

NDA 2018 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

NATIONALITY-The applicants must be an Indian citizen or a subject of Bhutan/Nepal/Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to become a permanent resident of India.

AGE LIMITATION-
only unmarried male applicants can apply for NDA 2018.
For NDA (I), the applicants should not be born before 2ndJuly 1999 & not later than 1st July 2002.
For NDA (II), the applicants should not be born before 2ndJanuary 2000 and not later than 1st July 2003.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION-
For Air Force & Naval Wings of National Defence Academy & for 12thCadet Entry Scheme at Indian Naval Academy–The applicants should have cleared 12thstandard or equivalent examination with Physics & Mathematics from any state education board or university.
For Army Wings of National Defence Academy– The applicants should have cleared 12thstandard or equivalent examination organized by any State education board or university.
The applicants who are appearing in 12thstandard or equivalent can also apply for NDA.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS-The applicants must be physically fit as per the guidelines set by National Defence Academy & Naval Academy examinations.
The applicants who have resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academies of Armed Forces are not eligible to apply for NDA.

NDA 2018 RESULT:

After one month from the exam, the result of NDA written examination will be released.
The result will be declared via online mode through the website.
The result of shortlisted candidates for SSB Interview will be displayed in PDF format.
Shortlisted candidates are needed to appear for the SSB Interview round.
SSB will be organized by the Services Selection Board (SSB) of the Ministry of Defence.
The final result will be declared, after clearing the SSB interview & other rounds.

NDA APPLICATION FORM 2018

NDA 2018 APPLICATION FORM:
The applications have to be submitted through online mode from the official website of UPSC. The applicants are advised to fill the application forms carefully because once you submit the forms, any changes or corrections will not be allowed. They also have to upload the scanned images of their photographs & signatures. Accept the declaration and take a printout of the filled application form for further use. There is no need to send the printout of the application form to the authority.

APPLICATION FEE
The applicants also have to pay the application fee to confirm their candidature.
The application fee for General & OBC categories is Rs. 100/-.
The application will be exempted for SC/ST and sons of JCOs/NCOs/Ors.
The fee can be paid through online (via net banking/master/debit card).
The fee can also be paid through offline (via cash in at any branch of SBI) mode.

The NDA exam will be offline based and there will be MCQ type questions in NDA exam. There will be a penalty for each wrong answer. The applicants will have to use only black ball pen to marks their answers. The examination will have 2 parts- Mathematics & General Ability Test.

The selection process of NDA/NA will complete in 3 stages

Medical review by Command Hospital
The applicants will be selected on the basis of marks scored in written examination & Interview rounds. The interview will be completed in 2 stages- Stage I & II. Stage I includes Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) & Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT). Stage II includes interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Test & conference. These tests will be organized for 4-5 days.

Candidate must be physically fit. Candidate must fulfill all the physical standards norms such as hight weight and eye sight.

NDA 2018 EXAM SYLLABUS:
The examination syllabus of NDA 2018 has been divided into 2 parts- Mathematics & General Ability Test. The General Ability Test includes questions from different topics such as Chemistry, English, General Science, GK, Geography, Physics & Current Affairs.

NDA 2018 ADMIT CARD:
Students can get their admit card via online mode through the website.
Candidates note down the NDA hall ticket will not be sent by post.
Candidates have to fill up details like RID, Date of Birth or Roll Number & other details, to download the admit card.
The admit card bear exam related details like exam centre, exam date & timing, students name, roll number etc.
Candidates will not be permitted to appear in the examination, without admit card.

NDA 2018 ANSWER KEY:
Candidates can view the answer key through the website.
Within a week after the examination, the answer key will be published.
The answer key will contain all the answers of those questions asked in the examination.
Candidates will get a rough idea about how much they are going to score in the examination with the help of answer key.

NDA 2018 IMPORTANT POINTS:
You can apply for the NDA exam via online mode through the website.Only male candidates can apply.
SC candidates are exempted from the application fee.
