NID DAT 2018 – RESULT, COUNSELLING, ANSWER KEY, CUTOFF – DESIGN

Test Details

National Institute of Design is an Institute of National Importance by NID Act 2014 and an autonomous Institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
National Institute of Design has announced to conduct NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2018 on January 7, 2018 for the candidates who wish to get admission to 4-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programme offered at NID, Ahmedabad.
“Admission will be done on the basis of NID’s method of selection, which extends beyond the students previous academic qualifications,” NID notification said, adding that the process of Admission to NID for B.Des. programme consists of three stages:
Stage 1: Design Aptitude Test (DAT)
Stage 2: Studio Test
Stage 3: Personal Interview “The objective of the admission process is to seek evidence of the perception, attitude, aptitude, achievement and motivation essential in a potential design student,” it further said.

NID DAT Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria of NID DAT has been given below which all candidates applying for Bachelor of Design programmes must fulfill.

AGE LIMIT

Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years of age (relaxable by three years for reserved category)
General Category applicants: Candidates born on or before July 1, 1996 are not eligible
Reserved Category applicants (OBC-NCL, SC, ST & PH): Candidates born on or before July 1, 1993 are not eligible

NID DAT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OVERSEAS CATEGORY

Foreign Nationals (applicants holding citizenship of any country other than Republic of India) are eligible to apply under the Overseas category. Fifteen percent of the supernumerary seats in B.Des. programme are created for Overseas Category.

NID DAT APPLICATION FORM

Applicants must read and apprise themselves with the information on eligibility criteria, number of seats, test centres, reservation policy and other relevant information related to admissions to B.Des. programme at NID.
Following are the steps which applicants have to follow while filling up NID DAT Application Form:
Step 1
Sign up
Register / signup by filling in the required details.
Ensure that the email id and mobile number you provide.
Login to your account using the email id and date of birth provided during signup.
Step 2
Fill Application Form
Login and proceed to Application Form.
While applying for undergraduate programmes, select the specific programme, i.e. only B.Des.
Once the payment formalities are completed, this choice cannot be altered.
Fill all the required details in the application form.
‘Save & Exit’. You can always login at a later time and continue to complete the application process.
If you have your scanned photograph and signature as per the instructions, go to ‘Save & Proceed’ to ‘Upload Document Section’.
Step 3 Upload Photograph & Signature Upload scanned photograph as per the instructions. It should be in JPEG format only not exceeding 100 kb size. Browse / choose your scanned photograph from your computer and click on ‘Upload’.

After uploading scanned photograph and signature, save your application OR click on ‘Save & Proceed’ to Payment section.
Step 4
Pay application fee & Print
Select mode of payment to pay the application fees online by Credit / Debit Card or offline by Demand Draft and submit the required details.
After verifying the details submitted you can proceed to make payment.
Note: After making the payment of application fees, you will not be able modify / edit any information provided during the submission of application form.
After making payment successfully, you will be redirected to the Print section. You can take a print of the application form submitted for your reference or save it as PDF file.
If you are making payment by demand draft, you must complete the process of online submission of application form before November 27, 2015.
To complete the application process, you must send the demand draft and a printout of your application form in a single envelope, so as to reach the following address before December 11, 2015.

NID DAT Admit Card – National Institute of Design (NID) released Online Admit Card of NID DAT.
Aspirants are advised to download the NID DAT Admit Card and bring it at the exam centres for NID Design Aptitude Test as they will not be allowed in the exam hall without their valid admit card. Candidates can click on the link given below on this page to download their admit card.

STEPS TO DOWNLOAD NID ADMIT CARD

  1. Click on the official link.
  2. Enter email id or date of birth to login.
  3. Click on admit card.
  4. Admit card appears on screen.
  5. Download admit card.
  6. Print admit card.

Applicants must have passed or are appearing for the qualifying examinations under the higher secondary (10+2) from any recognized Board of Education such as AISSCE/IB/ICSE, or equivalents, during the academic year 2015-16.

EXAMINATIONS CONSIDERED AS EQUIVALENT TO CLASS XII ARE The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiuweb.org).
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or in a foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
H.S.C. vocational examination.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Candidates who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII examination, conducted in India.

Based on the available number of seats, the top ranking candidates will be offered admissions in the first merit list.
The score of the last candidate in the first merit list for general category will be considered as cut off score for General category. Based on this, relaxation in the cut-off scores of candidates in reserved categories will be as follows:

10% less than cut off score of General category 20% less than cut off score of General category 20% less than cut off score of General category 30% less than cut off score of General category

NID DAT Exam Pattern – Aspirants, who have applied to appear for NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2017 to be held on January 7, 2018, must check the complete exam pattern of NID DAT . The exam conducting body National Institute of Design has specified the Exam Pattern, including subjects to be covered, number of questions and total marks.

NID DESIGN APTITUDE TEST (STAGE 1)

Important Features

  1. There will be ONE question paper of 3 hours duration.
  2. The question paper will be in English.
  3. The question paper will carry a total of 100 marks.
  4. The question paper will consist of both objective and subjective type questions.

Studio Tests (Stage 2)

  1. The studio tests may consist of different sections in different formats such as hands on practical assignments, etc.
  2. The tests will carry a total of 100 marks.
  3. It will be conducted in English.
  4. Studio tests will be followed by personal interviews.

Personal Interviews (Stage 3)

  1. The personal interviews will be conducted separately for each discipline of specialization.
  2. The interview will be conducted immediately after the studio tests at the same centre.
  3. Test Centre for Stage 2 and Stage 3 for candidates of B.Des is Ahmedabad.
