JEE Main 2020 (April) - Application Form, Syllabus, PatternAIPMT 2020 – Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) will be held on 7 May . The information brochure and application form for the exam has also been released. Whereas, for candidates who are planning to submit the fee via any other mode, the deadline will lapse on 1st March . The provision to submit form by paying late fee is also available and the details of it are given in the article below. AIPMT 2020 Seats

  • 15% of medical and dental seats, as under all India quota, are reserved for admission through AIPMT. The same apply to all the states, except Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
  • In 2014, there were 2156 MBBS seats and 249 BDS seats. Where last year the seat matrix raised to, almost, 3000 seats.

AIPMT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Candidate must be, at least, 17 years old, while applying, as on 31 December 2016.
  • He/ she must not be more than 25 years (general) or 30 years (SC/ST/OBC).
  • Age limit may change as per the norms of each state.


  • Indian nationals, as well as OCI candidates, are eligible to apply.


  • Candidate must qualify class XII (passed or appearing in 2016) or equivalent exam
  • He/she must have Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology as core subjects in the qualifying exam
  • Additional fifth includes math or any other approved subject
  • B.Sc candidates who have qualified (passed or appearing in 2016) B.Sc final exam with any two of Physics, Chemistry or Biology in B.Sc subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and any other approved fifth subject in the qualifying exam
  • He/she must have obtained at least 50% marks in PCB or 45% (General PH) or 40% (SC/ST/OBC)

AIPMT 2020 Application Form

The application form for AIPMT is only available online, on the official website. To submit the application form, candidates may follow the steps below:

  • Access the link above.
  • Read all the instructions carefully and click on”Procced to Apply Online”
  • Register by submitting Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email Address and Security Pin.
  • Secure the OTP Password and OTP ID, as provided in the e-mail and SMS.
  • Next, candidates will have to fill personal, educational and other required details in the application form.
  • After the step above, an application number will be allocated to candidates. This is an important number and must be secured properly because it will be required to login and check details.
  • Step ahead is to upload scanned Photograph, Signature and Impression of Right Hand Index finger.
  • Candidates will also have to pay the application fee, either via e-chllan or online safe payment gateway.
  • When all the steps above will be completed, a confirmation page will be displayed. Candidates are advised to secure a copy of it.

The AIPMT application fee amount has been increased. Last year, it was Rs. 1200 but now it has been increased to Rs. 1400. Chcek the table below to know the AIPMT fee amount, for all the categories.

AIPMT 2020 Exam Pattern

  • The exam shall be conducted in offline mode.
  • Candidates will have to write the answers using pen and paper.
  • There would be 4 set of question paper.
  • Usually, papers are titled as P, Q, R and S.
  • They shall be asked multiple choice questions.
  • Darken the circle corresponding to your response.
  • There would be a total of 180 questions.
  • Answer these questions in 180 minutes or 3 hours.

AIPMT 2020 Marking Scheme

  • For each correct answer, 4 marks will be credited.
  • For each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
  • Grand total would be attained by subtracting net negative marks from net positive marks.

AIPMT 2020 Admit Card

The admit card of AIPMT will also be issued online, on the official website. The issuance of it will start from 15 April 2017. On the day of the exam, candidates will have to carry the AIPMT admit card and the proforma, on which passport and post card size photograph is to be pasted.

AIPMT 2020 Quick Preparation Tips

  • Try to complete the syllabus early. Start with the tough and end with revision and easy topics.
  • Do not refer to multiple books, it will lead to confusion. Cover NCERT books first and then refer to guides for better understanding.
  • Consult your teachers and seniors for reference of good and trustable books.
  • Read the syllabus and make it a parameter for topics. Strike as you cover the topics, and then subtopics.
  • Practice mock tests and sample papers. It will lead to a self-analysis of preparation.
  • Make a time table and follow it strictly.
  • Small short breaks between studying schedule will help in rejuvenating.

AIPMT 2020 Selection Mode

Candidates will be selected for granting admission, on the basis of scores attained in the examination. An inter-se merit list will be created to allocate the seats to most deserving candidates and will be uploaded online. Selected candidates would get the chance to mark options of colleges and courses in the decreasing order of preference during online counselling. Some private colleges and universities will also consider scores of AIPMT 2020 to fill vacant UG Medical seats.

AIPMT 2020 Result

The result of AIPMT will be released online, by the conducting body. To check the result of AIPMT candidates will have to access the candidate’s login. To do so, candidates may follow the steps below:

  • Click on the link which will be uploaded.
  • Enter registration number and password, in the required space.
  • To submit the entered information click on “login” button.
  • Check and download the result.

AIPMT 2020 Merit List

  • Merit list is the list of candidates which has the name of the selected candidates.
  • The ordering of the candidates would be done as per marks in the exam.
  • The candidate with highest marks would be placed at the top of the list.
  • Listing in the merit list will be considered while calling for counselling.
  • Merit list can be seen at the official website of the AIPMT 2016.

AIPMT 2020 Counselling

The AIPMT Counselling will be held for the admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. The Counselling will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The following are the steps of AIPMT Counselling-

1. Registration, Choice Filling & Locking.
2. Seat Allotment Process (for 3 Rounds).
3. Seat Allotment Result (for 3 Rounds).
4. Reporting at the Allotted Institutes.

If the seats remained vacant after the Counselling for AIPMT, then the vacant seats will be transferred to State Quota. Also, for the better understanding of the candidates, below we have given AIPMT.

AIPMT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of AIPMT 2016 has been defined by the conducting body, which is Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).The criteria are concerned with age bar, education qualification, nationality etc. AIPMT Eligibility Criteria is as below:

1. Nationality: Applicant must be a citizen of India.

 2. Age Limit: While applying for the exam, the candidates must be at least 17 years old, as on 31st December 2016. Also, the candidate should not be more than 25 years old. Relaxation on upper age limit is as per the norm of CBSE. As per it, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes are entitled to the relaxation of up to 5 years.

3. Education Qualification: Candidate should have passed or must have appeared for 10, +2 exam, from a recognized Institution. Subjects in 10+2 should be Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. These are mandatory subjects to be eligible for AIPMT but apart from this candidate should also have had Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computers etc as the optional subject in the qualifying exam.

Candidate must have secured 50% marks in the qualifying exam. This criterion for Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) is 45%. For the Physically handicapped candidates, esp with locomotory disability of lower limbs, minimum marks to be obtained is 45%.

AIPMT Eligibility Criteria is the same for all the candidates. It is mandatory for every candidate to fulfill it. It is advised that candidates check eligibility criteria before applying/filling the application form. If candidates fill the application form and pay the application fee when they are not eligible to write AIPMT , the amount of it will not be reimbursed to them, irrespective of whether they give the exam or not.

All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) entrants can still submit the application form, but by paying the late fee. The amount of the late fee is Rs. 1400, which candidates will have to submit in addition to the actual application fee.

The deadline to submit AIPMT application form lapsed on 1st March . However, as promised in the information brochure, CBSE has commenced the provision to submit the application form, after the conclusion of the deadline, by remitting the late fee amount.

The entire procedure to submit the application form is the same as it was before. Only, the amount of application fee has been increased. Candidates are still required to register online and fill details in the form, upload required images and submit the exam fee. However, now the amount to be paid is as below:

Candidates must also note that just like the actual fee submitting schedule the last date to submit the application with late fee, via challan.

This is the last opportunity for the candidates to apply for AIPMT . CBSE will neither provide another chance to do so nor will it open the correction window. Hence, candidates are advice to make the most of this opportunity and ensure that information filled in it is correct. Application form submitted with incorrect information will be rejected.

AIPMT 2016 is due on 7 May . Only for the registered candidates, the admit card will be issued on 15 April . Candidates must download it and carry it mandatory on the exam day.
