A brief on AP PGECET 2020:

Andhra University 2020Andhra University, Visakhapatnam will conduct Andhra Pradesh Postgraduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET) from May 10 to 12. AP PGECET will be conducted by the university on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admission to 13 M.Tech programmes offered by its participating institutes. The admission to AP PGECET participating institutes will be on the basis of GATE scores or the AP PGECET entrance exam result. Candidates planning to appear in AP PGECET will be required to fill the application form which will be available tentatively in the first week of March . However, it is important for candidates to check the complete eligibility criteria of AP PGECET before applying for the exam. The hall ticket of AP PGECET will be available from fourth week of April . AP PGECET Eligibility Criteria 2020

The eligibility criteria of AP PGECET contains certain prescribed terms and conditions which candidates will have to fulfil to be considered as eligible for the exam. AP PGECET eligibility criteria has been provided in the table given below.

3 Age Limit The lower age limit of the applicants is 21 years.
4 Educational Qualification Candidates need to have passed the qualifying exam in B.E./ B.Tech.
5 Required Marks General category candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in their qualifying exam. However, reserved category candidates need 40% marks in their qualifying exam.
6 Qualifying Exam Status Candidates who are pursuing B.E./ B.Tech will also be eligible to apply for admission, provided, they have completed the prescribed course and passed all the subjects from the concerned university on the date of AP PGECET counselling
6 GATE GATE qualified candidates will be eligible for direct admissions

AP PGECET Eligibility Criteria for Admission

Candidates must not confuse between the eligibility criteria for appearing in the exam and admission. For appearing in the exam, candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the table above. However, for admission through AP PGECET exam, candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria as mentioned below.

  • Candidates must have appeared and qualified in AP PGECET exam relevant to the course in which the admission is required.
  • 85% of the seats in AP PGECET for each course will be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% seats will be for unreserved candidates.
  • During seat allotment at the time of admission, first preference will be given to GATE/ GPAT qualified candidates based on their  scores.
  • The remaining seats will be allotted to AP PGECET qualified candidates on the basis of their merit ranks.

AP PGECET Application Form 2020

The application form of AP PGECET will be available tentatively in the first week of March for all the candidates in online mode. Candidates will have to provide their personal, academic, qualifying exam and contact details while filling AP PGECET application form and submit it on or before the end prescribed date. However, for candidates applying on the basis of their GATE scores will have to fill a separate application form for counselling purpose.

Procedure to Fill AP PGECET Application Form 2020

The step-wise procedure to fill the application form of AP PGECET can be checked by candidates as mentioned below.

  • Step 1 – Application fee payment: Candidates will be required to pay the application fee (as mentioned in the table below) and fill in the required details. After making the payment, candidates will receive a transaction ID which has to kept safely for future.
  • Step 2 – Registration: Candidates will have to register themselves by providing their payment reference ID, qualifying exam hall ticket number, mobile number and date of birth.
  • Step 3 – Filling of details: Candidates will have to provide their personal, qualifying exam, contact details and Aadhaar Card details mandatorily in this step. They will also be required to choose exam centre according to their preference and upload their photo and signature in the specified format.
  • Step 4 – Submission: After filling all the details in the application form, it is important that candidates check it carefully and then submit the same. When the form is submitted, a unique registration number will be generated that has to be noted down by the candidates for future use. Candidates must download the filled application form and also take a print out of the same.

The exam centres of AP PGECET are the prescribed colleges/ schools/ institutes where candidates will have to visit on the day of the exam. How to prepare for AP PGECET  2020?

Candidates appearing in AP PGECET must know how to prepare for the exam. For that, it is important that candidates know the prescribed exam pattern and syllabus to be able to prepare accordingly and perform better in the exam.

AP PGECET Exam Pattern 2020

The exam pattern of AP PGECET as prescribed by Andhra University has been provided in the table given below. It is to be noted that all candidates will have to appear in Engineering Mathematics section in the exam mandatorily. The remaining part of the exam will have questions from the prescribed syllabus of AP PGECET .

AP PGECET Syllabus 2020

The syllabus of AP PGECET will be released by the university for all 13 disciplines of the exam. Candidates must download AP PGECET syllabus related to their discipline and follow it while preparing. It is necessary on candidates’ part to  practise the prescribed AP PGECET syllabus to be able to perform and score well in the exam.

AP PGECET Sample Papers 2020

Practising the sample papers of AP PGECET is important for all the candidates appearing in the entrance exam. AP PGECET sample papers will help candidates to know the type of questions and frequency of topics  that will be asked. Candidates must also practise previous year question papers to prepare well.

AP PGECET Mock Test 2020

The mock test of AP PGECET will be made available by the university for the candidates. Taking up AP PGECET mock test will allow candidates to appear in the exam confidently,  making them aware of the pattern and type of questions that will be asked. AP PGECET Hall Ticket 2020

The hall ticket of AP PGECET will be released tentatively in the last week of April. AP PGECET hall ticket is an important document to be carried to the exam centre as entry without it will be restricted. To download AP PGECET hall ticket/ admit card, candidates will have to log in using their registration number and the exam they are appearing for.

AP PGECET Answer Key 2020

The answer key of AP PGECET will be released in online mode in second week of May tentatively for all the candidates to check their answers with the ones’ provided by experts. This will allow candidates to calculate their entrance exam marks and hence estimate their admission chances. Candidates can raise objections against AP PGECET answer key, if not satisfied.

AP PGECET Cutoff 2020

The cutoff of AP PGECET will be the minimum marks required for admission in the institute and courses offered by them. Candidates scoring less than AP PGECET cutoff will be denied admissions. Therefore, candidates will have to meet the cutoff of AP PGECET to get through the admission procedure. AP PGECET cutoff will be prepared by the authorities following certain parameters.

AP PGECET  Result 2020

The result of AP PGECET will be released in online mode in the third week of May tentatively. Candidates will be able to check their AP PGECET result using their registration number, date  of birth and exam paper for entrance exam. AP PGECET result will contain the rank, percentile, scores and qualifying status of the candidates. It is important that candidates download and also take a print out of their AP PGECET result for future use as soon as they are able access it.

AP PGECET Rank Card 2020

In AP PGECET , ranks will be allotted to only those candidates who will meet the qualifying percentage marks which is 25% i.e. 30 marks out of 120. For candidates belonging to SC or ST category, there will be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking. The authorities will release the rank card of AP PGECET separately for qualified candidates.

AP PGECET Counselling 2020

The counselling of AP PGECET will be conducted separately for GATE & GPAT qualified candidates and AP PGECET qualified candidates. In AP PGECET counselling, candidates will have to fill their choices, get their documents verified and pay the counselling fee. Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories will have to pay Rs 600 while SC & ST candidates will have to pay Rs 300 before they participate in the document verification process. The payment can be done  either through net banking or by a credit or debit card.

AP PGECET Seat Allotment 2020

Under the seat allotment of AP PGECET procedure, candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their choice filling, merit and availability of seats. After the seat allotment, candidates will have to visit the allotted institute for admission and complete the remaining formalities.
