RBI JE 2020 Exam Pattern – Overview

An online examination will be held comprising of 200 marks. Candidates will be required to attempt three tests namely- English Language, Engineering Discipline, General Awareness. All of them will have 50 questions each. The questions will be entirely objective in nature. Candidates will have to choose one option from the four options. The maximum marks in the English and General awareness is 50 and 100 for engineering discipline.

  • There would be three sections in the examination namely English Language, Engineering Subject and the General awareness sections.
  • All the sections will contain 50 questions each and hence the total number of questions would be 150 Nos.
  • The English Language and the General Awareness section would contain 50 questions each worth 50 marks but the Engineering section will contain 50 questions of 100 marks.
  • The total marks of the exam would be 200 marks.
  • A total of 2 hours would be allotted for the candidates to complete the examination.
  • The candidates can attempt any of the three songs first.
  • There would also be a provision of negative marking which would be equal to 0.25 marks in English and General Awareness section and 0.50 marks in the Engineering discipline. However there would not be any negative marking for the un-attempted questions.

RBI JE 2020: Reserve Bank of India conducts the competitive examination for the recruitment of Junior Engineers in Civil/Electrical field in its various zonal offices across the country. The exam is conducted at the national level at the exam centers in various cities. The exam is conducted as the computer-based test. The advertisement for RBI will be published soon by the bank. Aspirants will have to apply online for the post of Junior Engineer. The application form will be made available on the official portal of RBI.

RBI JE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility requirements to be able to apply online and appear in the exam:

Educational Qualifications:

  • For Junior Engineer (Civil): Candidates must have completed 03 years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute or University with minimum 65% of marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD) or Degree in Civil Engineering with 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD).
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical): 03 years Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD) or Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronic Engineering with minimum 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD)

Experience: Candidates with diploma must hold at- least 02 years’ experience and candidates with degree must have an experience of at least 01 year in execution and supervision of civil construction work, civil maintenance of office buildings etc. for the post of JE (Civil) and in execution and supervision of electrical installations in large buildings for the post of JE (Electrical).

Job Description of Junior Engineer:

  • Junior Engineer (Civil): Handling and supervision of civil construction/ maintenance/ interior works of the related infrastructural system and other related jobs in office buildings and residential colonies.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical): Handling and supervision of electrical/ electro-mechanical/ electrical and electronics installations/ systems and other related jobs in office building and residential colonies.

RBI JE 2020 Application Form

The applications for the post will be accepted through online mode only. Candidates will have to apply in the prescribed format only. No other mode for the submission of applications will be available. Applicants must fill the online application form properly. The applicant will have to apply for one post and for one Zone out of East, West, North, South and Central Zone.

RBI JE 2020 Admit Card

Reserve Bank of India will issue the call letters to all the registered candidates. E-admit card of the registered candidates will be uploaded on the official portal of RBI about two weeks prior to the conduct of the examination. Candidates will have to download their call letters and then it’s print out.

RBI JE 2020 Result

The results for the online exam will be hosted online. The result will display the names of the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the online exam. Such shortlisted candidates will be eligible to appear in the Interview round for the zones they applied for.
