The common management admission test (CMAT 2019) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). CMAT 2019 Exam Pattern

  1. Exam Mode: CMAT 2019 will be held in online CBT mode in single session on 28th January 2019.
  2. Type of Questions: The question paper will contain Multiple Choice Questions from various sections.
  3. Number of questions: The paper will consist of total 100 questions.
  4. Language of paper: The exam will be asked in English language.
  5. Time Duration: Total time duration of the exam will be of 3 hours.
  6. Subjects: The question paper will consist of questions from Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Technique & Data interpretation, General Awareness and Language Comprehension.

CMAT 2019 Marking Scheme

The details about Marking Scheme of CMAT 2019 are discussed below:

  1. The Question Paper of CMAT 2019 will be of total 400 marks.
  2. Each section of Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Technique, General Awareness and Language Comprehension will be of 100 marks.
  3. For each correct response, +4 marks will be allotted.
  4. For the wrong responses, -1 mark will be deducted.

CMAT 2019 Syllabus

  • CMAT 2019 syllabus is made up of 4 subjects namely Language Comprehension, Quantitative Techniques and Data interpretation, General awareness and Logical reasoning.
  • CMAT syllabus is spread across concepts related to Mathematics, English language and current affairs.
  • Problem solving capacity of the candidate is checked through questions related to analytical and critical reasoning.

CMAT 2019 Results

The authority has published the result in the pdf format through online mode. Candidates should check their CMAT 2019 result from 6th February 2019.

The result has been announced in the form of All India Merit List & State Merit List. The CMAT merit list 2019 indicate the candidates roll number, rank and the score of all the candidates.

CMAT 2019 Cutoff

National Testing Agency will not release CMAT 2019 cutoff to shortlist candidates for the selection procedure; however, the affiliated institutes will declare their respective cutoff after the result gets officially announced. The cutoff of CMAT 2019 is the minimum score or percentile candidates need to obtain for attaining admission into MBA and PGDM programmes offered by management institutes across India.

The factors that will determine the CMAT 2019 cutoff are:

  1. Total number of candidates appeared in CMAT 2019
  2. Number of seats available
  3. Number of qualified candidates
  4. Level of difficulty pertaining to CMAT exam.

CMAT Score Card 2019

Candidates, those names in the merit list, they can download the scorecard in the third week of February 2019.

The scorecard will be issued through online mode on the official website. No separate scorecard will be sent to the selected candidates by email or by post.

The CMAT 2019 score card will be valid only for one year, i.e. the academic year 2019-2020.

CMAT Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must go through the eligibility norms before applying for the CMAT 2019 examinations as if he/she fails to satisfy the norms then they will not be considered for admission by the authorities. The candidate must fulfill eligibility rules related to his/her nationality, Academic qualifications and age.

A candidate also has to go through the eligibility criteria of the 3 subjects offered through the CMAT examinations as all the 3 have different requirements. Candidates are also instructed that in case any candidate will not satisfy the given eligibilities they will not be considered for the CMAT 2019 exam.

Nationality of the Candidate

  • This segment represents the eligibility norms that are associated with the nationality of the applying candidates. The candidate is required to be a citizen of India.

Academic Qualifications

  1. The applying candidate must have a bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years duration from any discipline.
  2. The candidate’s must have secured at least 50% marks (45% in case of S.C/S.T candidates).
  3. Final year candidates of a bachelor’s program can also apply for CMAT exams given they complete their bachelor’s program with the minimum marks required at the time of admission.


  • There is no maximum or minimum age for applying into CMAT 2019 examination.

Subject Specific Eligibility Norms

These are the specific subject requirement to get admission in the given particular course.

  1. The candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree recognized by state/central government.
  2. The bachelor’s degree must be of minimum 3 year duration.
  3. The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST candidates) in the bachelor’s degree.

CMAT 2019 Application Form

  • Registration: In order to register for CMAT 2019, the candidates have to access the site as a new user. The self-registration form will have to be uploaded to the website with basic and correct details of the candidate.

  • Essentials: Documents required for the application process are- personal documents for address and identification, SSLC/ 10th Std/ Equivalent Details, 12th/ Equivalent/ Diploma Course Details, Graduation Details, Other Professional Degree Details, Postgraduate Details.

  • Application Fees: The registration fee is INR 1400 for General/ OBC and INR 700 for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Female candidates.

  • Payment ModesThe payment for the CMAT 2019 application form can be done through two modes Online and Offline mode.

    • Online Mode: The payment of the application fee can be done through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.

    • Offline Mode: Select the option as 'Pay by Cash' and a challan will appear and take a printout of it and visit the nearby SBI Bank only to pay the application fees.

CMAT 2019 Application Process

The Steps given below represents the process involved in how to fill the CMAT Application Form:

  • Step 1: You must enter the required details for Registration/ Login page to continue to fill the Application Form.

  • Step 2: Once you have logged in to your account you can Fill the Details as per required in the Application Form.

  • Step 3: After filling the Application Form you have to Upload Scanned Documents.

  • Step 4: Before submitting the Application Form you have to pay the Registration Fee Payment through online (Credit Card, Debit Card/ Net Banking) or offline (E-Challan).

CMAT Admit Card 2019

Candidates are able to download the admit card on 7th January 2019. The admit card is available only through online mode from the official website.

The authority has also sent the CMAT hall ticket 2019 in the candidate’s registered email ID apart from online mode.

On the day of the exam, candidates have to bring a valid admit card along with one of the photo ID proof such as Passport, PAN Card, UID card, Driving license, Voter ID, or a notarized Affidavit (in English).

CMAT 2019 Counselling

The CMAT 2019 counseling process will be conduct by the each participating institution individually. The applicants have to register themselves on the particular institution website for taking part in their admission procedure. Applicants have to fill their preference of college and course at the time of counselling.

  1. Counselling Date: CMAT 2019 counselling will be conducted from 25th February 2019.

  2. Documents Required: The documents required for the counselling are as follows - CMAT Admit card, CMAT Call letter, Degree certificate, Marksheets, CMAT Payment Challan copy are required for counselling.

  3. Group Discussion: Some schools conduct a group discussion round to shortlist candidates for CMAT 2019.

  4. Selection Procedure: The counselling procedure for the CMAT 2019 will be based on Scorecard, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview (PI) and/ or Written Ability Test (WAT)
