CMAT 2020 – Common Management Aptitude Test

Image result for Common Management Aptitude Test logoCMAT 2020: The result of CMAT has been announced on February 15. The computer based test was conducted on January 20 in two shifts. Based on the scores, the examination authority has released the All India merit list. Candidates are shortlisted for next rounds of selected based on their ranks and cutoff. Earlier, AICTE has released the answer key. The window to raise objections against the answer key was available till January 27. The test booklet comprised 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) from sections on Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. Over 60,000 candidates have appeared in CMAT . The exam is conducted for admission to MBA and PGDM Programme offered by the AICTE approved management institutes. What is CMAT?

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) or CMAT is a national level entrance examination conducted for admission to MBA and PGDM programme in institutions and universities approved by AICTE.

CMAT 2020 Registrations (extended)

Eligibility Criteria: CMAT 2020

  • Must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must have a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Also, final year pursuing students of Graduate Courses whose result will be declared before commencement of admissions for the academic year 2017 were also eligible to apply.

CMAT Application Form 2020

CMAT application form was available online. Candidates have to provide their Aadhaar number while filling CMAT application form but it is not mandatory. CMAT application form can be filled in three parts. First, candidates have to register using their name, date of birth, email id, contact details and preferred exam cities. Submitting details, the login id and password will be generated. In the next step, candidates have to pay the examination fees and fill other details in the application form. Fee payment can be done online and offline which is Rs 1400 for general and OBC candidates while that for female, SC, ST and PWD category it is Rs 700. The steps to fill CMAT application form is given below.


Application fee and Mode of remittance

The candidates belonging to General category were required to pay Rs. 1400/- + Bank charges as applicable for any test centre chosen in India while the candidates belonging to Reserved categories were required to pay Rs. 700/- + Bank charges as applicable.

The fee was non refundable and could be paid either online via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking or through cash at any SBI Bank branch in India against the Challan generated online at the time of the registration.

CMAT 2020 Admit Card

The CMAT Admit Card was available online at the official website of CMAT from 16 January 2017. All the duly registered candidates (registered before the last date) were only issued the admit card. The candidates were required to download their CMAT admit card online from the official website as these were not sent individually to any candidate via post or courier. The candidates were required to carry their admit cards to their respective test centres on the date of the examination for having entry into the examination premises.

CMAT 2020 Exam Pattern

As told earlier, the CMAT MBA Exam is a computer based test. The test was held on a single day. The questions asked in the exam were objective type. The CMAT Exam Pattern can be easily understood from the details given below –

Test Duration – 180 minutes (03 hours) duration.
For each wrong answer – 1 mark will be deducted.
For each correct answer – 1 mark will be awarded

CMAT 2020 Result

The result of CMAT exam has been declared on February 14. AICTE has released the scorecard online along with the result and the candidates are required to download and print it. The candidates can check the result by logging in to their accounts using their log in credentials. The scorecards furnishes the total as well as the sectional scores of the candidates. On the basis of CMAT result, the candidates are offered admission in MBA programmes offered by AICTE-approved institutes.

CMAT 2020 Answer Key

The answer key of CMAT has been released.  Candidates have to  download CMAT answer key by entering email id and password. Candidates can calculate probable score based on the number of correct and incorrect answer.

CMAT 2020 Cutoff

CMAT scores are accepted by over 1000 AICTE-approved institutes across the country. After the announcement of the result, these institutes release their individual cutoff scores. Depending on their percentile and the cutoff marks of various institutes, the candidates can seek admission in these institutes. The candidates who meet the cutoff criteria are invited for the next rounds that comprise, Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). It must be noted that the cutoffs vary from institute to institute. Also, the cutoff scores are different for each category. In most of the top B-Schools, the cutoff marks are in the range of 98-100 percentile
