Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), formerly the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT), is a premier chemical technology research institute located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, IndiaIt was established in 1933 and in 2008 the institute got deemed university status .Institute of Chemical Technology is the only deemed university in India that is funded by state.It is the most prestigious Engineering colleges in Mumbai.For the academic year 2017-2018, the Competent Authority for Admissions in the state of Maharashtra shall be granted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) this process consist three rounds.

Eligibility Criteria for ICT Mumbai Admissions 2020

  • Academic Eligibility: Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
  • 12th Board Exam Marks: Candidate should have secured 50% marks aggregate in all the subjects (45 % marks, in case of reserve categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).
  • JEE Main  Score: Candidate should have obtained the rank in All India Rank in JEE Main Paper 1 given by CBSE.

HOW TO APPLY for ICT Mumbai B.Tech Admission 

  • The candidate those desire to join Institute of Chemical Technology, candidates need to make an application for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
  • Then a joint merit list is prepared for all the candidates who have applied for the admission to first year of B.Tech. Program through CAP,
  • Then the admission will be granted on the basis of merit list prepared by CAP.

 ICT Mumbai Eligibility Criteria

 The Institute of Chemical Technology admits candidates to various of its undergraduate courses on the following basis:Candidates applying to any undergraduate course in the ICT must be an Indian national.

A candidate should have passed the HSSC or Class 12th Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or the Indian School Certi?cate Examination or any other equivalent Higher Secondary Examination of a recognized Council or Board outside Maharashtra.

English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths should have been studied as compulsory subjects and candidates should have secured not less than 50% marks.

ICT Mumbai Application Form

The application forms for ICT Mumbai Admission can be downloaded from the ICT official website. Application forms will also be available for sale in the Accounts Section of the Institute of Chemical Technology. Candidates can also request for ICT Application forms to be send to them by Post. Payment of the application fee can be made online or offline by submitting a Demand Draft of Rs.900, drawn in favor of ‘‘The Director, Institute of Chemical Technology’’.

ICT Mumbai Selection Procedure

The Institute of Chemical Technology does not conduct a separate exam for admission into its undergraduate courses. Admission to the various B.Tech courses is done on the basis of the JEE or the Joint Engineering Entrance Exam and MT CET which is the Maharashtra Technical Common Entrance Test. 30% of the seats will be filled on the basis of the JEE Main Exam , while 70 % of the seats will be filled on the basis of MT CET. Candidates belonging to the State of Maharashtra are also eligible for admission through AIEEE quota seats.

The Institute of Chemical Technology decides admission to its undergraduate courses on the basis of merit alone, which is determined by the marks secured by a candidate in the Qualifying Exam and entrance tests.

ICT Mumbai Exam Pattern

Admission to ICT Mumbai will be done on the basis of JEE Main and MT CET . ICT does not conduct a separate exam of its own. Both JEE Main and MT CET will be objective tests.

ICT Mumbai Syllabus

The JEE Main Exam will cover topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the Class 11 and 12 Level. The MT CET will consist of questions from Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics at the plus two level.

Dos and Don’ts

Candidates should ensure that the photocopies of certificates or documents attached to the application form are attested by the Principal of the College from which the candidate has passed his/her qualifying examination or by a Gazetted Officer or Special Executive Magistrate or Head Master of a Secondary School or teaching staff of a Government or Government Aided College.

Candidates from SC/ST/OBC categories should submit their Caste Certificates along with their application forms, failing which the category claimed, will not be granted and the candidate will be treated as a candidate of the General category.

Candidates should fill in all the relevant entries in the application form. Incomplete forms will be rejected by the ICT.

The ICT application forms will have a tear-off receipt at the bottom with the application number. The receipt should be filled in by the candidate and shall be signed and stamped by the clerk at the counter while submitting the application form. This receipt should be secured carefully and the application number should be noted for future reference during the admission process.
