Maharashtra Common Entrance Test-2020

A brief on MHT CET 2020:

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra will conduct MHT CET on May 10 for admission to UG engineering courses in nearly 360 participating institutes. Registration for MHT CET has started online from January 18. Last date to fill the application form of MHT CET is March 25, . As per MHT CET eligibility criteria, Indian national candidates having cleared or appeared 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% (45% for reserved category candidates) are eligible to appear for the exam. MHT CET is a pen and paper based test which comprises two compulsory papers- Paper I (Mathematics) and paper II (Physics and Chemistry). Questions in the entrance test will be based on class XI and XII syllabus prescribed by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education and Higher Secondary Education. Apart from MHT CET , admission will also be granted to All India candidature students based on JEE Main scores. In 2017, a total number of 3,89,520 registered for MHT CET out of which 3,76,282 candidates appeared for the exam. MHT CET Application Form 2020

The application form of MHT CET is now available in online mode. Before filling the application form, the candidates must carefully check if they meet MHT CET eligibility criteria. Candidates must also keep digital/ scanned copies of their photograph and signature (which is to be uploaded in the online application form) in the prescribed format before they start to fill the application form. In case due to any reason, any candidate has filled in incorrect information or wants to change any entry, then DTE Maharashtra gives a few days to update or edit the details entered in the online MHT CET 2018 application form after its submission. However, this facility is just provided only once, so candidates must be very careful while making changes in the application particulars.

How to fill MHT CET 2020 Application Form?

  • Click on “Apply Online”
  • The candidates will have to register themselves by submitting their personal, contact, education, bank and other details.
  • Generate your own password and keep it safe and remember it for all future communications.
  • After successful registration, the candidates will have to fill the application form.
  • The photograph and signature in Jpg/ Jpeg format have to be uploaded which should not be more than 50 KB in size.
  • Pay Application Fee through Credit Card/Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), IMPS, Internet Banking, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets. (Application Fee details are mentioned below).
  • Submit the application form and take the printout of the confirmation page of the submitted application.

Note: Keep the printout of confirmation page of the submitted application safe with you. It should not be sent to DTE Maharashtra.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria

  • DTE Maharashtra has laid down some norms that candidates need to fulfill to appear in MHT CET. Check MHT CET eligibility criteria such as nationality and qualification requirements below:Nationality– Candidates who are citizens of India are eligible for MHT CET 2020.Academic qualification– Candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics as the main subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Vocational subjects as optional subject.Minimum qualifying marks– Candidates must secure at least 50% in the subjects taken together. The minimum qualifying marks for reserved category candidates is 45%.


MHT CET Sample Papers 2020

Candidates seeking admission in B.E./B.Tech courses through MHT CET are advised to solve sample papers. Solving MHT CET sample papers will make aspirants acquainted to the test pattern. Candidates will be able to analyse their preparation level and improve their weak areas. Through sample papers of MHT CET candidates will get an idea about the type of questions they can expect in the examination. MHT CET Exam Centres 2020

MHT CET will be conducted at all the 36 district headquarters of Maharashtra. Candidates belonging to the state will be allotted MHT CET exam centre within the same district from where they have passed or appearing class 12 or equivalent examination. While students passing the qualifying examination from outside the state have to select exam city choice at the time of filling the application form. Request for change in MHT CET exam centre allotted to candidates will not be entertained under any circumstances.

MHT CET Admit Card 2020

The MHT CET Admit Card will be issued to registered candidates from April 24, . MHT CET admit card will be released online and to download it candidates have to log in with their application number, password and security key. The admit card of MHT CET will not be sent through post or any other medium. MHT CET admit card will bear the name and address of the exam venue, exam schedule, candidates personal details and exam day guidelines. Candidates have to carry MHT CET admit card along with a photo identity proof in original to the exam centre for verification. Candidates must ensure to retain the print out of MHT CET admit card until the completion of the admission process.

MHT CET Answer Key 2020

DTE Maharashtra may release answer key of MHT CET after the entrance test gets over. The MHT CET answer key includes correct answers to the questions asked in the paper of MHT CET . Candidates who have taken MHT CET can compare their answers (which they have opted for or marked in the answer sheet) with the official answer key of MHT CET . The exam conducting authority will also release the scanned OMR sheets of the candidates in the last week of May . The candidates will also be given time to raise their complaints/feedback and challenge the MHT CET answer key in case of any discrepancy.

MHT CET Rank Predictor 2020

MHT CET Result 2020

DTE Maharashtra will tentatively announce result of MHT CET on or before June 3. Candidates have to check their result online as nobody’s result will be sent to them via post. MHT CET result will be declared only for those candidates who have taken the state level entrance test. Through the result of MHT CET , DTE Maharashtra will release the rank card/score card of the candidates with their scores/ranks on it. Candidates have to download their MHT CET result , take its printout and keep it safe with them.

MHT CET College Predictor 2020

The college predictor of MHT CET is a simple yet interesting tool developed by Careers360 through which candidates can predict probable colleges where they have chances of admission based on their MHT CET score.  For using the college predictor tool of MHT CET , the candidates have to just enter a few details related to the exam and marks and the tool will provide the names of the colleges where the candidates have the possibility of admission.

MHT CET Merit List 2020

The merit list of MHT CET will be separately prepared and released by the exam authority, apart from the result of the entrance exam. MHT CET merit list is expected to be released in the third week of June . Candidates will also get to file their grievances against the merit list of MHT CET . Admission to B.Tech programmes across the participating institutes of MHT CET will be offered based on the merit list/rank list of MHT CET . DTE Maharashtra is expected to first release provisional merit list and then the final merit list of MHT CET .

MHT CET Counselling & Seat Allotment 2020

The counselling and seat allotment of MHT CET will commence tentatively in the first week of June and will be conducted in three rounds. MHT CET counselling will be Centralized Counselling Process (CAP). The admission committee may also hold an additional CAP round to fill vacant seats if the need arises. Counselling and seat allotment of MHT CET will be done according to the merit list of MHT CET , with candidates placed higher getting precedence over lower ranked candidates.

MHT CET 2020 counselling includes the following steps

Step 1: Filling of Online Application form to participate in MHT CET Counselling (Centralised Admission Process)

Step 2: Visiting Facilitation (FC) in person for Document Verification

Step 3: Display of provisional merit list of eligible candidates

Step 4: Reporting at allotted institute to confirm allotted seat after final CAP round.

During the counselling process, candidates have to participate in choice filling and locking. There are also options like freeze, slide, and float, which allow a candidate to be flexible with their options. After the final CAP round, candidates who have been allotted seats have to report at the institution finally allotted to them to confirm their seats.
