NDA 2020 – National Defence Academy

NDA 2020– We are pleased to inform to all the aspirants that NDA 2020the Union Public Service Commission has released the NDA Admit Card today. The e-admit card has been issued online by UPSC to all the registered candidates. Candidates can download/ print their admit card through this page. There is no other mode to avail the admit card. The NDA 1 written examination is scheduled on 23rd April 2020. All the candidates are required to bring the printed copy of their admit card on the day of the examination. What is NDA & NA (I)?

National Defense Academy, khadagwasla and Naval Academy are the two pioneering academies which trains the candidates for the direct officer rank entry into the prestigious defence sectors of the country viz Army, Air force and Navy. Every year, UPSC, on the behalf of these two academies conducted the written examination two times in an academic year. The examinations are conducted in the months of April and September. The examination conducted in the month of April is called the NDA & NA (I) and the examination conducted in September is termed the NDA & NA (II). The examination is conducted for around 375 seats at one time of which the following is the break:

  • Army – 208 seats
  • Navy – 42 seats
  • Air Force – 70 seats
  • Naval Academy – 55 seats

 Total – 375 seats

NDA Eligibility Criteria 2020

The candidates wishing to fill the Online UPSC NDA 2020 Application form must acquaint themselves with the eligibility criteria which prevail for the examination. The following are the eligibility criterions required to appear in the aforesaid examination:

  • Nationality: the candidates should necessarily be an Indian and must have a domicile certificate to support the same. However, NDA also allows foreign nationals but the clarification for that can be found from the respective embassies of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan and Myanmar.
  • AGE: the candidates applying for the NDA 2020 exam must be aged between 17 to 20 years of age as on 31st December 2016.
  • . Educational Qualification:
  • The candidates must have studied physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the higher secondary examination.
  • There is no bar on the minimum percentage qualification
  • The students enrolled in the current academic year are also eligible to apply for the examination.

NDA Application Form 2020

The NDA 2020 Application form has been released on January and can be filled by visiting the website of UPSC  on or before January 2017. Here are the instructions which will help the candidates fill the Application form efficiently:

  • First of all the candidates are required to visit the website of UPSC.
  • On the website, there will be various links out of which select the link which reads ‘NDA & NA(I) Application form’
  • Upon clicking, a new page will come which will ask the candidates to furnish information as well as to choose 2 choice centers
  • Upload recent color passport size photograph and signature
  • Pay the Application fee of Rs.100 either through net banking or through the credit or debit card.

NDA Selection Procedure 2020

The above mentioned 375 seats are filled by the two academies following a detailed and holistic selection procedure which involves every parameter which can be judged to select a candidate able enough to get entry to the Indian Defence mechanism as a leader.

The selection procedure mainly involves three selection parameters which are mentioned below:

  • Written Examination conducted by the UPSC
  • Interview conducted by the SSB
  • Medical Review by the Command Hospitals

The UPSC has been entrusted with the task of conducting only the written examination after which the successful candidates are called for an interview at the SSB Centers allotted by the Service Selection Board. The interview is conducted for five days in which the abilities of the candidate in both field and vocal are checked. The candidates are screened and made to do group tasks.

SSB Selection Stages

There are two stages in SSB – part 1 and part 2. Only those candidates who clear part 1 will be permitted for part 2.

  • Stage 1 comprises of – Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests, Picture Perception, Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates will be shortlisted on the combined performance in OIR, PP and DT.
  • Stage 2 comprises of – Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and Conference

The successful candidates are then sent for a medical screening at the command center hospitals. The final merit list of the candidates is made keeping in mind the score of candidates in the written examination, SSB Interview and Medical screening.

NDA Exam Pattern 2020

The Examination for the NDA is conducted in two sessions namely the Mathematics and the General Ability sections. The highlights of these two sections are as follows:

  • There are 120 questions carrying 300 marks in the Mathematics section and 150 questions carrying 600 marks in the general ability section.
  • The total marks will be 900.
  • The time allotted for the first section would be 150 minutes and for the section, the time allotted would also be 150 minutes.
  • There is provision of negative marking for every negative response.

NDA Sample Paper 2020

The candidates can prepare themselves to face the NDA 2020 Exam through the customized Sample papers which are specially designed to cater the needs of the candidates. The NDA Sample Paper will be having previous year question papers and also mock tests based on the syllabus of the examination. 

NDA Answer Key 2020

Once the examination gets over for the both sessions, the candidates will be able to view the Answer for their respective question papers. The candidates will be able to view the answer keys of various coaching centers once the exam gets over. The official Answer key will be released by the UPSC after one to two weeks and can be viewed for both the papers only by visiting the official website of UPSC.

NDA Result 2020

UPSC will be declaring the NDA result by September . The candidates will have to visit the official website of UPSC or through the direct link hosted in this page. Following instructions need to be followed by the candidates to see their result:

  • Visit the official website
  • Click on the link of the Result Tab
  • Furnish the information like Application form Number and Password or Date of Birth as asked there.
  • The result will get downloaded in a PDF format, download the search for your roll number.
