A brief on OJEE 2020:

OJEE 2020: Registration, Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility, SyllabusOdisha Joint Entrance Examination Board (OJEEB) conducts OJEE for admission to B.Tech programmes in private and government engineering colleges in Odisha. OJEEB will conduct OJEE counselling registration for JEE Main qualifed candidates tentatively in 2nd week of June . The registration cum counselling process for OJEE includes choice filling and payment of counselling fee. It is advisable to fill as many choices one can to have maximum chances of admission or being offered a preffered seat. After filling of choices, a mock seat allotment result will be announced, based on which candidates can make changes before locking them. Temporary allotment of seats for JEE Main candidates will start tentatively in the first week of July. Post temporary allotment candidates need to report at nodal centre of OJEE for document verification and payment of admission fee. However, it is only after final seat allotment that candidates need to report at the alloted institute. In case of candidates who don’t have JEE Main scores, they have to take the special OJEE entrance examination. The application form for special OJEE is expected to be available around the first week of August, . The special OJEE exam will be held tentatively in the second week of August.

The special OJEE will be held after end of OJEE counselling for JEE Main 2020 candidates. The important dates related to special OJEE are given in the table below:

Special OJEE 2020 Important Dates

Special OJEE is something which is conducted specially for students who were not able to qualify OJEE 2020 in their first take. This is a great opportunity for students to appear and qualify the examination yet again. Candidates who wish to appear in 2nd/Special OJEE 2020 must fill the application form again for the same. Candidates who successfully apply for 2nd OJEE 2020 are issued with a fresh admit card to appear in the examination.

OJEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Only such candidates who fulfill eligibility criteria of OJEE as prescribed by the admission committee will be considered for B.Tech admission. The important OJEE eligibility criteria are listed below:

  • Candidates need to have passed 10+2 examination of CHSE or equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject / Computer science / Electronics / Geology / Information Technology / Statistics.
  • The minimum aggregate requirement is 45% marks ( 40% in case of SC/ST candidates). For admission to Architecture courses, minimum aggregate requirement is 50% in PCM. Marine Engineering aspirants need minimum 60% in PCM.

Age Limit: There is no age limit for admission to architecture courses. For admission to Marine Engineering 4-year courses, age limit is 20 years as on the date of commencement of course.

OJEE Registration 2020

The registration of OJEE  for JEE Main candidates will open tentatively around the second week of June in online mode. In case of special OJEE candidates, registration will open tentatively in the second week of August . OJEE registration includes the following steps:

Step 1: The candidate will have to click on the “New Registration” link and select the relevant course and enter his/her Special OJEE/ JEE Main Roll Number and date of birth. Click on the “Submit” button to continue registration process.

Step 2: On clicking “Submit” buttion, a screen will open displaying information entered by the candidate in the application form and some new fields that will have to be filled by the candidate, like contact address, mobile number, etc. The candidate will have to then choose an appropriate password.

Step 3: In this step, the candidate must check that all the information entered is correct, or else the candidate must click on “Edit Registration” to make the corrections. Finally, if all information is correct, the candidate has to click on the confirmation button to complete the process.

Step 4: Payment of OJEE 2020 Counselling Fee

Upon successful registration, the candidate needs to log-in to the newly created account to deposit the counselling fee through online mode.

Step 5: Choice Filling and Locking

Candidates need to select as many choices they can, in the order of preference, to have better chances of admission and getting a preferred seat. After the candidate has filled the choices, a mock seat allotment would be announced. The candidate can take cue from the mock seat allotment and make changes to the options before finally locking the choices. Once choices are locked no changes are allowed.

 Special OJEE Application Form 2020

The application form of special OJEE will be available in online mode tentatively in the first week of August . The special OJEE application form has fields like personal and academic section. The candidate has to fill in all the mandatory fields with authentic information, or else the application form will be rejected. The candidate will then have to upload the relevant images, including scanned photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression in the prescribed format. Finally the candidate have to pay the application fee and submit the special OJEE application form .

Special OJEE Application Fee: Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs. 1000 through net banking/ credit card/ debit card.

Special OJEE Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of OJEE will give candidates details about the entrance exam like type of questions asked and test time, which makes preparation for the examination easier.

  • A total of 60 MCQs will be asked
  • The syllabus of special OJEE will be as per JEE Main

Special OJEE Admit Card

The admit card of special OJEE will be available around the the second week of August in online mode; candidates can download the admit card by logging in using their application number and password. The special OJEE admit card will contain the name of the candidate, roll number, and exam details. The candidate must ensure that the details displayed on the OJEE admit card is correct; in case of any discrepancy, it should be bought to the notice of concerned authorities immediately. The OJEE admit card is required to not only take the exam but to complete other admission formalities; so candidates need to keep it safe.

OJEE Seat Allotment Result 2020

The mock seat allotment of OJEE will be announced on the 4th week of June. Based on the mock seat allotment, the candidate may fine tune his/her choices to have a better chance of admission. The candidate will have to finally lock his choices post mock seat allotment of OJEE , before expiry of choice locking deadline. Post choice locking, no changes can be made to the choices exercised by the candidate. The admission committee will consider the choices entered by the candidate and also thier JEE Main scores for announcing temporary seat allotment of OJEE for Round I tentatively on 1st week of July. Candidates who have been alloted seats will have to report at specificed Nodal centres for document verification. Post document verification, candidates will have to pay the admission fee for confirmtion of seats.

OJEE Cutoff 2020

The cutoff of OJEE is the minimum score candidate needs to score in JEE Main or special OJEE to be in contention for a B.Tech seat. The cutoff of OJEE will be determined by admission authorities based on a number of factors like number of applications received for admission, number of seats available and previous years’ cutoff trends. All the participating institutes of OJEE will have their own individual cutoffs, which will be determined branch-wise and category-wise. Candidates who score the OJEE cutoff will be invited for counselling as per their merit rank.

OJEE Counselling 2020 for JEE Main Candidates

There will be two rounds of OJEE temporary seat allotment for candidates who have qualified JEE Main . The final seat allotment will be announed after Round II seat allotment. To particpate in OJEE counselling, the candidate needs to get registered, pay the registration cum counselling fee, and exercise choice filling. The choices entered by candidates, along with their JEE Main rank, will be considered for seat allotment of OJEE .

After candidates exercise choice filling, a mock seat allotment result will be displayed. Candidates can alter their choices if they feel they might get a better seat based on the mock result and lock their choices. Temporary seat allotment of OJEE would be announced after choice locking ends. After temporary seat allotment, candidates need to report at nodal centre for document verification and payment of admission fee. The candidate will report at the alloted institute/college only after declaration of final allotment.

Special OJEE 2020 Counselling for candidates without JEE Main Scores

TheSpecial OJEE is an entrance examination that will be held for candidates who don’t have JEE Main scores, yet want to take B.Tech admission in engineering colleges in Odissa.

The participating institutes of OJEE include colleges and institutes in the state of Odisha that offer admission to undergraduate engineering couses based on JEE Main and special OJEE scores. There are 50,000 seats on offer that are offered by more than 100 participating institutes of OJEE .
