CENTAC 2020: Application Form, Exam Pattern, Eligibility CriteriaThe online registrations for admissions through CENTAC will be open tentatively from the third week of May . The candidates who wish to pursue their studies in the participating institutes of CENTAC will have to fill the application form with valid information and submit it. The submission of the application form has to be done in both online and offline mode along with other required documents. CENTAC admissions will be done based on the 12th standard (or equivalent) examination scores for Puducherry and Tamil Nadu candidates and JEE Main scores for other state candidates. Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) will prepare the merit list by using a normalization procedure. The shortlisted candidates will have to pay the counselling fee online and submit their preferred options. The allotted candidates will have to report at their institute to confirm their admission. There are 17 participating institutes under CENTAC . Centralized Admission Committee will be the conducting authority for the entire admission process. CENTAC 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who wish to get B.Tech admission through CENTAC will have to fulfil certain conditions and requirements to be eligible. The following eligibility criteria of CENTAC will have to be met by the candidates to participate in the admission procedure.

Eligibility Criteria of CENTAC 2020


Nationality: The candidates have to be of Indian nationality. However, French nationals residing in the UT of Puducherry and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession will also be eligible to participate in CENTAC .


Age: All candidates should be maximum 21 years old as on July 1, . Relaxation of 3 years will be given to SC candidates.


Educational Qualification: For CENTAC admissions, the candidates should have qualified H.Sc (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination. An aggregate of minimum 45% marks (40% marks for OBC/ BCM/ MBC/ EBC/ BT/ SC candidates) should have been secured in Mathematics, Physics or any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology (Botany and Zoology).


Selection Criteria: Candidates belonging to the Union Territory of Puducherry will be allotted seats based on their performance in 12th standard (or equivalent) examination. CENTAC admissions to the candidates from other states and Union Territories will be done based on their JEE Main scores.


Attempts at Qualifying Examination: The candidates can appear for the qualifying examination maximum two times. Scheduled Caste category candidates will be allowed to appear for the qualifying examination maximum three times.

CENTAC 2020 Application Form: How to Apply?

If you’d like to gather details regarding process of CENTAC application then here we are explaining the same. Candidates can apply online for CENTAC from its official site. For the same, candidates need to first download the application form from the official website of CENTAC. Fill up only correct information in the specified field and verify the same. Besides, you also need to pay an application fee for a course which is Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- in case of SC/ST Candidates). Candidates need to remit the application fee only after completion of filling up process of application form. In case you have furnished any wrong information or haven’t followed the information brochure, your form will be rejected simply by the concerned body.

CENTAC 2020 Admit Card/Result

Candidates who have successfully applied for CENTAC exam can download the admit card and check their respective result from the official website. After release of the official notification we will update these details at our portal.

CENTAC 2020 Counselling Procedure

The selected candidates will have to download and print out their counselling letter. The venue and timings for the counselling of CENTAC will be present in the downloaded counselling venue. The same information will also be sent to the candidates through SMS and email. The candidates will be called in for CENTAC counselling according to their ranking in the merit list. Firstly, the candidates will have to pay the counselling fees of Rs. 750 (Rs. 350 for SC/BT category) through online mode (credit card/debit card/NEFT). After payment of counselling fees, the candidates will have to enter their choices of college and course for admission. Allotment of seats will be done on the basis of the ranking of the candidates and his/her selected options. The candidates will have to download their provisional allotment order and report at the allotted institute to confirm their admission. Failure to do so will lead to the cancellation of their allotment.

CENTAC 2020 Admission Procedure

After declaration of result, CENTAC merit list will get prepared and candidates will get admission as per the marks scored by them in the exam.
