Anna University will be the conducting authority of TANCET 2018 which offers M.E./M.Tech admissions into the participating institutes. The annual entrance examination of TANCET 2018 is held to allot eligible candidates into the various engineering institutes of Tamil Nadu. The online application form of TANCET 2018 will be available tentatively in the month of March. All candidates will have to attempt the TANCET examination which will be held in offline mode tentatively in the fourth week of March 2018. GATE qualified candidates will not have to attempt TANCET 2018 examination and can directly apply for the counselling session. All of the candidates who wish to participate in the TANCET 2018 examination will be required to fulfil the determined eligibility criteria. The application form of ineligible candidates will be rejected by the admission authorities.

* Candidates with Section A & B certificates (AMIE) and other similar certificates of professional bodies recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, India and enrolled before May 31, 2013 will be considered to be equivalent to B.E./B.Tech degree holders, only with 2 years regular full time experience in the relevant field after successful completion of the course including project work.

|3||Domicile Requirements||The other state candidates will also be eligible for TANCET. However, the eligibility conditions will be specified by the admitting authority/University.|
|4||GATE||Candidates who qualified and secured valid scores in GATE examination in 2016/2017/2018 will also be eligible for TANCET.
However, those candidates who have qualified GATE examination in XE or XL papers will have to attempt the TANCET 2017 exam.
Anna University will be announcing the result of TANCET 2018 tentatively in the second week of April 2018 in online mode. Through the released result, the candidates can check their secured marks and ranks in the entrance examination. The marks obtained by the candidates will be normalized by the concerned authorities for ranking purposes. The rank card or mark sheet will also be available with the TANCET result and it has to be downloaded by the candidates and submitted during the counselling process.
Steps to Check TANCET 2018 Result
The application form of TANCET 2018 will be available tentatively in the month of March. All of the candidates will have to register themselves otherwise they will not be allowed to participate in the examination process. The given steps have to be followed by the candidates to successfully fill and submit TANCET 2018 application form.
Step 1 – Registration – Firstly, the candidates will have to register themselves by submitting their name, email ID, date of birth and valid mobile number. The password also have to be created by the candidates according to their liking.
Step 2 – Filling of Online Application Form – After registration, the candidates will have to submit their personal information and select their choice of exam centre and paper of TANCET 2018 for which they will be appearing. The address of the candidates will have to be provided for further communication. The candidates will also have to upload their recent passport size photograph in JPG/JPEG format in a file with size of 20KB to 30KB.
Step 3 – Payment of Application Fees – The candidates will have to pay the required application fees to proceed ahead for participation in the entrance examination. The payment can be done through online mode i.e., net banking, debit card or credit card.

Step 4 – Submission and Print Out of Application Form – Finally, the candidates are requested to check their filled details since no changes can be done after submission. After verification, the candidates will have to submit the filled TANCET application form 2018. A unique application number will be generated after the candidates submit the filled application form.
While preparing for TANCET 2018, the candidates are advised to solve sample papers of the examination. By attempting the sample papers of TANCET 2018, the candidates will be able to understand the examination and its question pattern. The topics that are usually covered by the question paper can also be checked by the TANCET 2018 sample papers. Since the official sample papers are not made available, the candidates will be able to access sample papers released by the coaching institutes in this article as soon as it is released.
All of the registered candidates will be able to access the hall ticket of TANCET 2018 tentatively from the second week of March 2018. TANCET 2018 hall ticket will be available in online mode. The candidates will have to log into their accounts using their ID and password and download their hall ticket. Since the hall ticket has to be produced at the exam centre, the candidates will have to keep it safe. Inability to produce the hall ticket at the exam centre will make the candidate ineligible to appear for the examination.
Step to Download TANCET Hall Ticket 2018
If the candidates misplace or lose their TANCET 2018 hall ticket, then they will have to apply for a duplicate copy by paying Rs. 100 through a demand draft in favour of “The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025” payable at Chennai. Along with the demand draft, a written request with the details of the candidate’s TANCET 2018 registration number/application number and name of the exam centre will also have to be sent.
The concerned authorities of Anna University will determine the cutoff of TANCET 2018 which will be the minimum scores required for admission. The TANCET 2018 cutoff will be prepared to screen the admission process. Variety of factors related to the examination i.e., number of applicants, difficulty level, previous year cutoff trends and more will be taken into consideration while preparing the cutoff. Those candidates who meet the cutoff will have a higher chance of admissions into the participating institutes.
All of the qualified candidates will have to participate in the counselling session through Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) 2018. This counselling process will be open for both TANCET qualified and GATE 2018 qualified candidates. Allotment will be done according to the candidates’ merit in their respective channel of admission. The merit of TANCET and GATE candidates will be released separately. During the TANCA 2018, the candidates will have to register themselves and undergo document verification to be successfully allotted into the participating institutes. The exam centres of TANCET 2018 are those cities where the entrance examination will be conducted by the admission authorities. While filling the online application form, the candidates will have to select their preferred exam city. Allotment of TANCET exam centres 2018 will be done by the admission authorities based on the candidates’ preference.
